Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What edition are you currently on?
A: We’re entering our 27th year and about to release Edition 36 of the Road Life Legacy Truck Stop Guide. Each edition represents a complete nationwide update of truck stops and rest areas along all major U.S. and Canadian interstates.
Q: How often is a new edition printed or updated?
A: A new national edition is published once per year, supported by continuous database audits to ensure accuracy before each release.
Q: Is this the only guide you produce?
A: The Legacy Guide is the flagship publication of the Road Life series, focused exclusively on truck stops and rest areas across North America.
Q: How large is the circulation and who receives it?
A: We transitioned from warehousing large print runs to a print-on-demand model, typically producing between 60,000 and 100,000 copies per year. Distribution targets professional long-haul drivers, fleet terminals, truck stops, and CDL training centers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Q: Where can drivers get a copy?
A: The Legacy Guide is available at Iowa 80, TA and Petro Travel Centers, and online at Iowa80.com. Additional outlets vary by edition and distributor.
Q: Do you include rest areas and inspection facilities?
A: Yes — rest areas are included in every edition. However, per requests from various state Departments of Transportation and enforcement agencies, information on upcoming inspection facilities is not published.
Q: What sets the Legacy Guide apart from online apps or GPS listings?
A: The Legacy Guide features our proprietary FAST-Finder exit based, linear-mapping format — an intuitive layout that helps drivers locate upcoming fuel, food, and rest areas for hundreds ofmiles on a single printed page; in seconds.
